I truly thank God for Heart of America. I am an ordained minister of The Lord Jesus Christ and Pastor of Prathersville Bible Church in Prathersville Mo. Two things have been instilled in me since I was a child…The love of God and the importance of a good education. Heart of America Christian College and Theological Seminary has given me deeper insight into God’s Word as well as a quality education. I graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s degree in secular psychology. At that time I found myself at life’s crossroads. Rev. Dr. William Ross -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1996 I was chaplain assistance at the Jackson County Detention Center at 1300 Cherry Ave. in Kansas City, MO. I ask Chaplain James Collier if he knew where I could go to get a degree in Christian Counseling? He told me to call Heart of America Bible College and I did. I met with Dr. McCarroll and when I first saw him I knew that I was at the right place. He took me by my hands and he immediately started praying for me in the Holy Ghost and him and I both enjoyed the Presence of the Lord. I signed up for a correspondence course and I did not do well at all. I stopped mailing my assignments in and I forgot all about school. The Spirit of the Lord continues to stir on the inside of me. My heart desire was to be a Christian Counselor, so in the fall of 2000 I enrolled in Heart of America Bible College again. May 16,2004 I received my Master Degree in Scriptural Psychology with honors. I have been an honor student for four years. Praise the Lord What appeals to me most about Heart of America is that the Word of God is being taught by precept and by example. The instructors demonstrate what they teach .The Holy Spirit is the teacher. The instructors let Him have His way in the classroom and He is the one in charge. That's a blessing. The instructors prepare the students to go and make disciples of men and women, boys and girls. That is exactly what Jesus told us to do. Amen The courses that were beneficial to me was

3. Crisis and Trauma Counseling My practice will be Marriage and Family Counseling according to the Scriptures. The chapel services were spirit-filled and the Word of God went forth in every service. We worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. Souls were saved, the backsliders were reclaimed, and the Believers were strengthened. Some received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost as evidenced by speaking in tongues. Prophecy and healing was also apart of our worship service. We also supported the work of the Lord by bringing our tithes and our offerings, and every first Tuesday of the month we would bring a special offering for our first missionaries from Heart of America, brother and sister Shawn and Misty Benson. Heart of America is the place to be to fulfill the calling that the Lord has place in your heart Dr. McCarroll is truly a blessing. He is willing to assist you in anyway that he can for you to accomplish the goals that the Lord has set for you. So that you can be the best that you can be in God's army. I thank you for giving me the opportunity to share with you what Heart of America Bible College and Theological Seminary means to me. Anita Louise Johnson, Student/Evangelist -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. McCarroll, his wife and family, and the family at Heart of America have made a positive and indelible mark on my spiritual life. With great pleasure, I take this opportunity to share some of my experiences there. June 10 of the year 1997 brought a drastic change in my life when my husband of 13 years unexpectedly had a heart attack and went to be with the Lord. I was devastated and grieved severely mentally, physically and spiritually. I sought the Lord constantly to find my purpose and to find strength to endure and fulfill it. I promised God that if he would restore my joy to me, I would do whatever he wanted me to do. In the Fall of 1997, I met Professor Jackie Brown who was then a student at Heart of America. She was studying in the beauty shop and I inquired about her text and classes. Dr. Brown was excited and enthusiastic and told me about Heart of America. She urged me to contact Dr. McCarroll. I called him, and that was the beginning of a wonderful new era of my life, which is still evolving in a mighty way today under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Dr. McCarroll was very encouraging and sent me a packet of materials. I met Dr. McCarroll when I went to enroll for the Spring semester of 1998. At that meeting, I shared with Dr. McCarroll that I had a backache and a burning pain in my neck. I had suffered with this periodically since the age of twelve when I had spinal surgery. Dr. McCarroll called his wife into the office with us, we touched and agreed, and they prayed the prayer of faith for my healing. God healed my back and I have not had that symptom since – all praise and glory be to God! I am a living witness that by Jesus’ stripes we are healed! These events in my life launched me into my ministry of helping hurting people and praying the prayer of faith for them to be healed in their souls, bodies, and spirits. I enrolled at Heart of America in the Scriptural Psychology curriculum with a goal of obtaining a PhD and opening a Christian counseling center. Since being there, I also accepted my call into the ministry of preaching the gospel. Based on my Heart of America credentials and my personal experiences with the Lord, I was selected and now serve as and Elder and the Director of Christian Education at my local church. A great and powerful thing happened to me at the Heart of America graduation services in 1999. Dr. Browning invited all of the students to the front and used his hood to represent the mantle that he and Dr. McCarroll were passing on to the students to go forth in knowledge, wisdom and power to spread the gospel. As I obeyed and went down to receive that anointing -- I received a wonderful gift from God which was the baptism of the Holy Ghost. The whole school still remembers that day and we laugh and rejoice together. Heart of America is a wonderful institution for Christian Bible study where we are taught the whole counsel of God. We are taught kingdom principles and who we are in God. We are taught how to function in our local churches and communities. Above all, our chapel times are “off the hook”, as the young people would say. God has truly smiled on me and restored my joy. Much of it is due to the true Christian friends at Heart of America that have been a tremendous support group for me. I tell everyone about Heart of America and Dr. McCarroll and his loving family. I have influenced nine others to attend one of which is the new husband that God has provided for me. He graduated this Spring with an Associate’s and a Bachelor’s degrees. God blessed me to receive the Master’s degree, which places me a step closer to my goal of a PhD and my own Christian counseling group. Another blessing is my husband is willing to work with me in this endeavor. We are excited about what God is doing and look forward to teaching at Heart of America in the Fall to give back what God has given us.
