Facing the Giants

This is an amazing story of faith, hard work, and God's mighty power.  Obviously this movie is about football.  But
the story and theme go way beyond the field.  Every person that sees this movie will come away with something different.  As in life, there are so many different ways that God moves through our lives and reveals himself to us.  This movie depicts that.

As coach of the Shiloh Eagles, Grant Taylor hasn't had a winning season in six years at the Christian School.  As he struggles on the field to get wins, his off the field family stuggles with money and infertility take their toll.  When the Eagles top player transfers schools, the season appears lost before it even begins.  With several parents looking to get rid of Coach Taylor, he cries out to God in desperation.  After recieving a message from an unexpected visitor, Taylor searches to find a deeper meaning for his team.  Without giving away the movie, just know that with God all things are possible.

This movie touches on many great issues including questioning your faith, spiritual leadership, working as a team, the power of prayer, never giving up, and trusting through tough circumstances.  This movie was written, produced and made by members of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, GA.  None of the actors were paid, in fact none of them are really actors.  The crew was inexperiened church members.  And some how the movie was picked up by Sony Pictures and is now in over 400 theaters across the country.  So just when you think that this is just a movie and God can't do big things, look again.  The making of this movie is a testament that with God all things are possible.   This movie shatters the cheezy Christian stereotype by dealing with real people and real issues in an authentic way.  The production quality is top-notch as well.  I highly suggest seeing this movie and taking as many people as you can.
